Yesterday, as Kaitlyn and I were merrily jogging, our paths crossed with a terrifying monster. There, lying in our way was a huge, man-eating serpent! We both jumped back in fear, but I realized what had to be done. I courageously jumped in front of Kaitlyn and took a picture. I then proceeded to chase the beast away. Here is the horrifying thing:

After 1 test (which I got a 99 on), a “maybe” test (that the class had no idea if it was going to happen or not because the teacher hadn’t been there for 2 days so we had to study even if it wasn’t going to happen), a 5 page paper, and waking up at 5 am to sign up for classes for next semester that I still don’t have enough hours for it is SPRING BREAK!
On an exciting note, I finally declared my major. It’s biology. Surprise surprise…. Unfortunately, I still have no idea where my life is going :)

Yes, this title is an oxymoron. But, it was what my English teacher called it this morning. Let me explain what we had to do… He called out a series of about 15 completely random questions that we had answer in 2 sentences. The first sentence answered the question and the second sentence had to relate somehow to the next question. So, that being said, here’s my little story:
I grew up in ____, _____. (sorry guys can’t let you know where I live unless you actually know me…) Anyway, I grew up in ____, _____. In _____ I lived with my family, including a dog.
My first pet was a dog named Chessie. She was very free-willed like Hollywood celebrities.
I want to go to Hollywood one day to meet the man of my dreams. Matthew Gray Gubler could never play a lumberjack in a movie.
Lumberjacks dream of cutting down trees. Occassionally, they stumble over potholes.
Potholes take years to develop into huge quarries. Santa’s reindeer trip over potholes in the sky when they fly.
Rudolph’s sister has a pipnk nose, but she is not famous because the color of her nose is not a Christmas color. She tries to put her 2 cents into the issue, but no one will listen.
If there is an extra penny after putting your 2 cents in, it falls to the ground. I found one of these pennies in a store once, and when I looked up, I saw my twin.
We stared at each other for a second and the said,”Hey, hey good lookin’!” I then left the store with my twin and saw a homeless guy and gave him my penny.
He put this penny towards his life savings, finally had a dollar, and bought a piece of candy. He then found a dog who was sleeping.
The sleeping dog was dreaming colorful dreams of the family he ran away from. They would never use a penny to buy him a bone.
There are never too many pennies, but after a while one should make other types of money. Unfortunately, this is a tiring process.
Yawning occurs when a person is bored or tired. I’m sure the people building the pyramids were often tired.
Aren’t there pyramids in Las Vegas? Spencer Reid is from Las vegas in Criminal Minds.
There was one episode of Criminal Minds where Gideon found a missing kid’s red baseball cap.

So, there ya go. A look into my thinking process. I hope you like it!

So, I sprained my ankle yesterday…
This is what happened to me in a nutshell:

The only difference is I wasn’t standing on a table. I mean, I was on a choir trip so I was singing (just not when I fell). I also didn’t roll around for 5 minutes groaning. I laughed. I mean, she fell off a table and I fell from where I was standing on the bus…. So similar…

I got to spend the first few days of my 2009 in Florida with my family. On saturday, my uncle took Chris and me out on his boat. Unfortunately, the big fish weren’t biting(probably because it was January 3rd…), but we did catch 1 blue runner. It wasn’t very big for the ocean, but it was a pretty large fish. We did get to see a lot of wildlife like dolphins, sea turtles (2 actually swimming in the sea), and a ton of Man-of-War jellyfish. Maybe next time we can actually catch something big…

Don’t get me wrong, I like biology, I find it interesting, but my teacher is crazy. She seems nice enough, but she likes to give us impossibly hard tests.

One thing we learned about in her class was cancer. It is pretty interesting. Surprisingly, the actual cancer cells in the human body are quite beautiful. See for yourself…

Wednesday nights are my favorite here in college. We have a little tradition going here in the apartment. For some reason, Wednesdays are the nights when we cook a full meal, America’s Next Top Model comes on, then, my favorite, Criminal Minds.
If you have never seen Criminal Minds, I would suggest it to you. It is pretty creepy for a TV show. A few weeks ago, Brooke, Kaitlyn, and I were getting pretty jumpy over an episode. It is also mainly about the case. I am so sick of shows going more into the personal lives of the investigators. Let’s be honest, I really don’t care about their lives. I love every character on the show, they are all unique.

My favorite would have to be Reid. He is the nerdy, super smart guy on the team. I’ll admit, I think I have a crush on a TV character(sorry Chris). After tonight’s show, I decided that I would go on imdb to learn more about the actor who plays him. Matthew Gray Gubler. While there, I found out that he has his own website! It is pretty cool because he doesn’t type anything on his blog. He writes his entries and then scans them onto the page. Maybe I would do that if I had a scanner. But then I would never blog….
If you want, you can check him out. Matthew Gray Gubler

So, I got into the good habit of blogging everyday for about 4 days. Then I got caught up in a little book series called “Twilight.” I became enthralled and unable to stop reading. I can’t wait until the movie!

Apart from reading, I got sick on sunday. After staying home from school monday, I was able to make it back on tuesday, still not feeling quite up to par. I finished tuesday out ok, but on wednesday, I woke up with an excrutiating pain in my back. Seriously. No exaggeration. I then proceeded to wake up Kaitlyn who drove me to the infirmary where I found out that I have a kidney infection… The nurse practioner gave me an antibiotic, a pain killer, and a muscle relaxant. Needless to say, I was out of it all afternoon yesterday. I will do my best to get better… No promises on blogging til I get better.

Ok guys, college is in full swing….. and it is AWESOME! So far, I’m loving it. But, my first day of class was a little bit crazy…. It started at 11, and I got to the place a little bit early. As it got closer to 11, there was only one boy and a ton of girls…. It got to the point where I was pretty sure I was definately not in the right place. Turns out, my class had been moved, so I got to my very first college class about 15 minutes late…

One really cool thing is that Kaitlyn and I met a group of guys who went to Camp Chacaouco! They went about a year before us. Actually, they were in the group who had the guys that decided to try to filter the water from the doo doo river. Crazy huh! They were also there right before th volcano erupted!

Yesterday we went to White Water! I think everything that could go wrong, did.

1. The bus broke down. We got to walk about a mile and a half to White Water.

2. I fainted. It happened pretty much the same as last time. Justs substitute Burgess for Chris and Taylor for Kaitlyn.

3. It rained. Of course it rained. It rains everytime we go to a water park.

4. Kaitlyn left her bathing suit in the bathroom after the park had closed… Luckily, we were able to get it…

Actually, the rest of the day after that was fine. We went to Stone Mountain and were able to watch the laser show. It was the same as always….. since I was 5…..

One sad fact about yesterday: my last trip as a youth. It was a nice run. I will never forget my youth group! I love you guys!

So, for the past week, I have been having some very crazy dreams. For example, yesterday I dreamt that I woke up at Madelyn and Alayna’s house to, not 2 girls, but about 6. It was just me with them. That was more of a nightmare! Not so much because it wouldn’t be fun to babysit all of them, but I would be unprepared and I have enough trouble trying to get the two I already have to listen to me.

Another dream included me being forced onto the pulpit to preach. As most of you know, I brought the word to Mt. Zion back in April. Not that it would be a bad thing for me to preach again, I just had no time to think about what to say. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing for Lance. He decided that he didn’t want to talk that morning….. I don’t know.

I think I am starting to see a pattern here. Maybe I should start getting more prepared for other things in my life. Maybe I should try to get in touch with Sigmund Freud…….

As most of you know, the first couple of weeks of my summer vacation have been fairly hectic. I don’t even feel like it is summer yet (or that I am even a HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE!). Yep, that’s right, I recently graduated and I can hardly believe it!

Well, anyway, the first week of summer we had our Jr/Sr church retreat to Disney World. If you want to read about that trip in detail, visit Piniglarism!

As soon as we got home from Florida, I left for our 6 day choir tour to Kentucky. I have been there before on choir tour and, amazingly, the sights that we had not changed. Hard to believe right. We went to Louisville Slugger and Churchhill Downs (which are the two places we visited last time). We did do something new to me which was a tour of the Corvette factory. There was also a lot of singing and two of the songs were in different languages. Those are always fun.

The day after we got home from Jubilate, Kaitlyn and I had our college orientation. I think that we are both very excited. Our rooms are really nice and the campus is very pretty. I can’t wait!

Our yearbooks this year are very nicely made, but I noticed something strange on the cover. The theme of our books this year is “A Paws in Time” and there is a timeline on the cover with different milestones of Mary Persons throughout the years. The date of 1987 states, “Dan Pitts-Winningest coach”. Well, the word Winningest really bothered my father and me so we looked it up on dictionary.com. Winningest is indeed a word according to this website. Go figure…. It still bothers me.

Ok, so this morning I am just kind of venting. I am a little bit upset because the past few days we have been on a block schedule, which means that we have been having 2 classes a day, each 3 hours. Since this is the end of the year, we have basically stopped learning. All we do in class now is sit around and talk. For the past three days, we have been stuck in a class for 3 hours doing this (or TRYING to find SOMETHING to do). So, after the first block of 3rd period, I wanted to yank my hair out because I was so sick of doing nothing and felt that there were better ways for me to spend my time. I called my mother and she checked me out of school (mainly because she felt bad for me).

This was all good until I checked something this morning. I now have an absence for 3 classes, not just one. At our school, we can exempt our finals if we have an A and 3 c, or if we have a B and 2 absences. Well, I missed just enough school so that I can exempt, but yesterday, I thought, I bet they will only count this as one class (it was art). Oh no, they counted it as absence for each class in that time block. I understand that I should not have left school, but we were not doing anything. Was it even fair to make us come to school? Oh well, I guess I just have to suck it up……

So, as most of you know, I am about to be crossing that threshold of life called college. It is a scary thought and I honestly don’t really like to think about the fact that I am actually growing up. I have to think about what I want to be when I grow up. I mean seriously what I want to do with my life. There are several things that I want to do. I used to have a long list of things that included supermodel, secret agent, and chef. Unfortunately, I am not tall enough to be a supermodel, I am not sneaky at all, and I am not that great of a cool (unless cereal counts). So, I have been compiling a new list of things that I want to do when I grow up (all though, technically, since I am 18 years old, I am a grown up…………………) So, here they are:

1. Pediatrician - I love little kids. I mean, I do watch 2 every afternoon. Plus, all of the little kids at church seem to like me. My family is also big in the medical field, so why not continue with the family tradition?

2. News Anchor - I know what you are all thinking…. “It got to Caity’s head when she played Roxanne in ‘A Nose For the News’.” But, that is not it. My mom planted this little seed in my head when she told me that I should be a public speaker after I preached last sunday. I don’t know if I could do that, but maybe in front of a camera.

3. Kindergarten Teacher - Once again, the little kids love me. But, if I taught them, would they actually learn? Knowing me, I would probably just play games with them all day every day.

So, you guys should help me determine where I should take my life. Any feedback would be helpful! : )

So, yesterday, I visited the University of Georgia. While there, we stopped in the bookstore to get all of our UGA paraphernalia. When we got there, we found out that the almighty Herschel Walker is visiting on April 18 (so today actually). He wrote a book or something to that sort entitled “Breaking Free.” The bookstore was very specific about what to do around Herschel (I really just like that name… it reminds me of ‘Hersey’).

On tuesday, a few of my friends and I traveled down to Hilton Head Island to stay for the week. We were driving separately, Cameron and Kathleen in the Mustang, and Chelsea, Megan, and me in Megan’s car. We stopped in Savannah for the day to visit SCAD for a few hours, so we got back on the road to Hilton Head later in the evening. When we were about 20 minutes away, Suzie, Megan’s GPS, gave us bad directions and we took a wrong turn. This road looked like it led to the interstate, so Megan continued down it to find that it was just a dead end. We made it around the turn fine, but heard Kathleen scream as the “Stang” whirled around the curve. Megan stopped and jumped out of the car, leaving me to wonder what happened. When I turned around, I saw the bright red sports car had fallen in the ditch. It had literally fallen. Cameron is possibly the safest driver I have ever met. He went 65 miles per hour the entire trip down to Savannah. He and Kathleen were just going slowly down this desolate road when he hit a mud patch and hydroplaned into the ditch. After this, it took about an hour and a half for Jordan’s mother to find us and for the tow truck to arrive. We eventually got to the condominium and settled in for the night.

On a side note, this road that we were on was in the middle of nowhere. It was kind of scary and it seemed that at any moment an insane man would jump out of the woods and murder us. (the movie would be entitled “April Fools Day”)

Or, since we were in kind of a swampy area, it looked like a fat alligator could come waddling out of the woods and eat us.

It has been one week since my last confession blog. Sorry about that, I was trying to see just how many comments I could actually get on that last post. I mean, 12 is a whole lot! Just kidding, I have actually been fairly busy.

So, as you can tell by the title, this past weekend was really fun!

Friday night: I watched a movie with mommy and daddy.

Saturday: The Miss Forsythia Pageant! It was a lot of fun, but it was pretty nerve racking at the same time. I’m pretty sure those of you who were there could tell that I was kind of nervous by my speech. It started out ok, but then I noticed all of the people watching me and I found it hard to remember what I was supposed to say! I am pretty sure Catherine gave the best speech. She was phenominal! In the end, I got 2nd place! I was really surprised and happy at the same time! Pictures from that are soon to come (maybe…..).

After the pageant, Chris and I went and saw Vantage Point, which was an ok movie. I mean, it was full of action and was really good, but a few parts of it seemed to take forever.

After that, we went to one of Chris’ friends house for his birthday party where there were a bunch of people from the Jewish church playing basketball. Chris played with them and made a few lucky extraordinary shots!

Sunday: Church of course! Then after that, Odie, Jonathan, Catherine, Chris, Taylor, and me went to a field and played frisbee. Needless to say, both times MY team won! Yes, that’s right, I am amazing. Just kidding…. Sometime between that and the after church fellowship, Jonathan, Kaitlyn, Chris, and me drove all the way to Academy Sports so that I could get some running shoes. I only had about 10 minutes, but it was a successful trip! I found a pair! I also embarrassed my friends some along the way! Then that AFC at Zaxby’s.

I wish every weekend could be this much fun. wooo

So, we are selling coffee for the Ecuador trip! If you would like to buy some, just see me (or one of the other Mt. Zion youth going).

One of the blends we are selling, the Mt. Zion blend apparently has a slight taste of vanilla and cinnamon. Well, me being who I am, love the way it smells. Coffee smells so delicious. So, I made my mother buy me this yummy smelling blend of coffee. The downside of coffee for me, though, is that it definately does NOT taste like it smells. Trust me, if it did, I would be drinking coffee night and day! Anyway, this coffee smelled so good and I made my dad get out the coffee pot and everything so that I could make some when I got home. Funny thing, I don’t drink coffee so I don’t know how to make it. Neither one of my parents did either. My mom had to look up how to make coffee. In the end, I think we made it too strong. I took one sip and gagged. Yes yes I know this is not a good fundraising technique to talk about how I dislike this coffee so much, but I’m pretty sure it is just the general fact that I do not like the taste of it. I had to put like 5 tea spoons of sugar into the coffee and it is still bitter. I’m sure, though, that if you are a coffee drinker, this stuff is amazing! I mean, I my mother was roped into buying it just because I liked the smell.

(I used the word coffee  12 times in this post)

If you have yet to have seen the Princess movie, please take a peak! It is the next post down!

So, I’m sure that several of you are curious about how Chris and I met each other. It is an interesting story really and I hope you enjoy it. It all started one day when I was at the beach. I was just minding my own business swimming in the ocean when a HUGE Great White shark attacked me. I mean, I tried to fight (I did do a little bit of damage to this monster), but I just couldn’t hold my own against this shark. As I was fainting from shock of the attack, I felt myself being pulled out of the shark’s mouth (with surprisingly very few bite marks). Someone then flipped the shark over, causing it to pass out (unfortunately, this won’t work with alligators). I was dragged out of the water and placed on the beach. The crowd surrounding me held their breath as they watched what was going to happen. The boy then shook me really hard and I woke up. That was the first time I saw Chris’ eyes. I knew right then and there that this was the boy for me!

Yesterday, a milestone was fulfilled on the morning drive to school. As some of you know, I take April Boyd to school in the mornings and I have been since last year. Well, I have been trying incredibly hard to get her to sing with me in the car since I have taken her to school, and yesterday, she did it! She sang with me to a song! I was so proud of her. I felt like a mom hearing her child talk for the first time! Well, maybe not QUITE like that, but pretty close to it. I am so proud!
