Ok guys, college is in full swing….. and it is AWESOME! So far, I’m loving it. But, my first day of class was a little bit crazy…. It started at 11, and I got to the place a little bit early. As it got closer to 11, there was only one boy and a ton of girls…. It got to the point where I was pretty sure I was definately not in the right place. Turns out, my class had been moved, so I got to my very first college class about 15 minutes late…

One really cool thing is that Kaitlyn and I met a group of guys who went to Camp Chacaouco! They went about a year before us. Actually, they were in the group who had the guys that decided to try to filter the water from the doo doo river. Crazy huh! They were also there right before th volcano erupted!

Yesterday we went to White Water! I think everything that could go wrong, did.

1. The bus broke down. We got to walk about a mile and a half to White Water.

2. I fainted. It happened pretty much the same as last time. Justs substitute Burgess for Chris and Taylor for Kaitlyn.

3. It rained. Of course it rained. It rains everytime we go to a water park.

4. Kaitlyn left her bathing suit in the bathroom after the park had closed… Luckily, we were able to get it…

Actually, the rest of the day after that was fine. We went to Stone Mountain and were able to watch the laser show. It was the same as always….. since I was 5…..

One sad fact about yesterday: my last trip as a youth. It was a nice run. I will never forget my youth group! I love you guys!

So, for the past week, I have been having some very crazy dreams. For example, yesterday I dreamt that I woke up at Madelyn and Alayna’s house to, not 2 girls, but about 6. It was just me with them. That was more of a nightmare! Not so much because it wouldn’t be fun to babysit all of them, but I would be unprepared and I have enough trouble trying to get the two I already have to listen to me.

Another dream included me being forced onto the pulpit to preach. As most of you know, I brought the word to Mt. Zion back in April. Not that it would be a bad thing for me to preach again, I just had no time to think about what to say. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing for Lance. He decided that he didn’t want to talk that morning….. I don’t know.

I think I am starting to see a pattern here. Maybe I should start getting more prepared for other things in my life. Maybe I should try to get in touch with Sigmund Freud…….

As most of you know, the first couple of weeks of my summer vacation have been fairly hectic. I don’t even feel like it is summer yet (or that I am even a HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE!). Yep, that’s right, I recently graduated and I can hardly believe it!

Well, anyway, the first week of summer we had our Jr/Sr church retreat to Disney World. If you want to read about that trip in detail, visit Piniglarism!

As soon as we got home from Florida, I left for our 6 day choir tour to Kentucky. I have been there before on choir tour and, amazingly, the sights that we had not changed. Hard to believe right. We went to Louisville Slugger and Churchhill Downs (which are the two places we visited last time). We did do something new to me which was a tour of the Corvette factory. There was also a lot of singing and two of the songs were in different languages. Those are always fun.

The day after we got home from Jubilate, Kaitlyn and I had our college orientation. I think that we are both very excited. Our rooms are really nice and the campus is very pretty. I can’t wait!

Wednesday morning, Kaitlyn, Mrs. Kim, and I all went to get our Yellow Fever shots for Ecuador. It was a fun experience I suppose (I mean, as fun as getting shots can be….). It wasn’t too terribly painful and it was fun seeing Mrs. Kim’s reaction to the shot! It was too bad they didn’t give us lollipops for being such good patients!

Today we recieved our yearbooks (finally!)! It is so exciting. This is, unfortunately the last yearbook I am ever going to get as a high schooler. Our yearbooks this year are very nicely made, but I noticed something strange on the cover. The theme of our books this year is “A Paws in Time” and there is a timeline on the cover with different milestones of Mary Persons throughout the years. The date of 1987 states, “Dan Pitts-Winningest coach”. Well, the word Winningest really bothered my father and me so we looked it up on dictionary.com. Winningest is indeed a word according to this website. Go figure…. It still bothers me.

Monday I got to help out with Kindergarten field day at T.G. Scott! It was a ton of fun! My friends and I all did so much with the little kids…….. we also did a little bit of playing ourselves. Sometimes, I wish I could go back to Kindergarten, but, ya know what, I am so graduating next friday! It is a bitter sweet time for me. I will be saying goodbye to some of my friends for the last time. But, it is also the beginning of my life as an “adult.” So long High School!

Ok, so this morning I am just kind of venting. I am a little bit upset because the past few days we have been on a block schedule, which means that we have been having 2 classes a day, each 3 hours. Since this is the end of the year, we have basically stopped learning. All we do in class now is sit around and talk. For the past three days, we have been stuck in a class for 3 hours doing this (or TRYING to find SOMETHING to do). So, after the first block of 3rd period, I wanted to yank my hair out because I was so sick of doing nothing and felt that there were better ways for me to spend my time. I called my mother and she checked me out of school (mainly because she felt bad for me).

This was all good until I checked something this morning. I now have an absence for 3 classes, not just one. At our school, we can exempt our finals if we have an A and 3 c, or if we have a B and 2 absences. Well, I missed just enough school so that I can exempt, but yesterday, I thought, I bet they will only count this as one class (it was art). Oh no, they counted it as absence for each class in that time block. I understand that I should not have left school, but we were not doing anything. Was it even fair to make us come to school? Oh well, I guess I just have to suck it up……

So, as most of you know, I am about to be crossing that threshold of life called college. It is a scary thought and I honestly don’t really like to think about the fact that I am actually growing up. I have to think about what I want to be when I grow up. I mean seriously what I want to do with my life. There are several things that I want to do. I used to have a long list of things that included supermodel, secret agent, and chef. Unfortunately, I am not tall enough to be a supermodel, I am not sneaky at all, and I am not that great of a cool (unless cereal counts). So, I have been compiling a new list of things that I want to do when I grow up (all though, technically, since I am 18 years old, I am a grown up…………………) So, here they are:

1. Pediatrician - I love little kids. I mean, I do watch 2 every afternoon. Plus, all of the little kids at church seem to like me. My family is also big in the medical field, so why not continue with the family tradition?

2. News Anchor - I know what you are all thinking…. “It got to Caity’s head when she played Roxanne in ‘A Nose For the News’.” But, that is not it. My mom planted this little seed in my head when she told me that I should be a public speaker after I preached last sunday. I don’t know if I could do that, but maybe in front of a camera.

3. Kindergarten Teacher - Once again, the little kids love me. But, if I taught them, would they actually learn? Knowing me, I would probably just play games with them all day every day.

So, you guys should help me determine where I should take my life. Any feedback would be helpful! : )

So, yesterday, I visited the University of Georgia. While there, we stopped in the bookstore to get all of our UGA paraphernalia. When we got there, we found out that the almighty Herschel Walker is visiting on April 18 (so today actually). He wrote a book or something to that sort entitled “Breaking Free.” The bookstore was very specific about what to do around Herschel (I really just like that name… it reminds me of ‘Hersey’).

On tuesday, a few of my friends and I traveled down to Hilton Head Island to stay for the week. We were driving separately, Cameron and Kathleen in the Mustang, and Chelsea, Megan, and me in Megan’s car. We stopped in Savannah for the day to visit SCAD for a few hours, so we got back on the road to Hilton Head later in the evening. When we were about 20 minutes away, Suzie, Megan’s GPS, gave us bad directions and we took a wrong turn. This road looked like it led to the interstate, so Megan continued down it to find that it was just a dead end. We made it around the turn fine, but heard Kathleen scream as the “Stang” whirled around the curve. Megan stopped and jumped out of the car, leaving me to wonder what happened. When I turned around, I saw the bright red sports car had fallen in the ditch. It had literally fallen. Cameron is possibly the safest driver I have ever met. He went 65 miles per hour the entire trip down to Savannah. He and Kathleen were just going slowly down this desolate road when he hit a mud patch and hydroplaned into the ditch. After this, it took about an hour and a half for Jordan’s mother to find us and for the tow truck to arrive. We eventually got to the condominium and settled in for the night.

On a side note, this road that we were on was in the middle of nowhere. It was kind of scary and it seemed that at any moment an insane man would jump out of the woods and murder us. (the movie would be entitled “April Fools Day”)

Or, since we were in kind of a swampy area, it looked like a fat alligator could come waddling out of the woods and eat us.

It has been one week since my last confession blog. Sorry about that, I was trying to see just how many comments I could actually get on that last post. I mean, 12 is a whole lot! Just kidding, I have actually been fairly busy.

So, as you can tell by the title, this past weekend was really fun!

Friday night: I watched a movie with mommy and daddy.

Saturday: The Miss Forsythia Pageant! It was a lot of fun, but it was pretty nerve racking at the same time. I’m pretty sure those of you who were there could tell that I was kind of nervous by my speech. It started out ok, but then I noticed all of the people watching me and I found it hard to remember what I was supposed to say! I am pretty sure Catherine gave the best speech. She was phenominal! In the end, I got 2nd place! I was really surprised and happy at the same time! Pictures from that are soon to come (maybe…..).

After the pageant, Chris and I went and saw Vantage Point, which was an ok movie. I mean, it was full of action and was really good, but a few parts of it seemed to take forever.

After that, we went to one of Chris’ friends house for his birthday party where there were a bunch of people from the Jewish church playing basketball. Chris played with them and made a few lucky extraordinary shots!

Sunday: Church of course! Then after that, Odie, Jonathan, Catherine, Chris, Taylor, and me went to a field and played frisbee. Needless to say, both times MY team won! Yes, that’s right, I am amazing. Just kidding…. Sometime between that and the after church fellowship, Jonathan, Kaitlyn, Chris, and me drove all the way to Academy Sports so that I could get some running shoes. I only had about 10 minutes, but it was a successful trip! I found a pair! I also embarrassed my friends some along the way! Then that AFC at Zaxby’s.

I wish every weekend could be this much fun. wooo

So, we are selling coffee for the Ecuador trip! If you would like to buy some, just see me (or one of the other Mt. Zion youth going).

One of the blends we are selling, the Mt. Zion blend apparently has a slight taste of vanilla and cinnamon. Well, me being who I am, love the way it smells. Coffee smells so delicious. So, I made my mother buy me this yummy smelling blend of coffee. The downside of coffee for me, though, is that it definately does NOT taste like it smells. Trust me, if it did, I would be drinking coffee night and day! Anyway, this coffee smelled so good and I made my dad get out the coffee pot and everything so that I could make some when I got home. Funny thing, I don’t drink coffee so I don’t know how to make it. Neither one of my parents did either. My mom had to look up how to make coffee. In the end, I think we made it too strong. I took one sip and gagged. Yes yes I know this is not a good fundraising technique to talk about how I dislike this coffee so much, but I’m pretty sure it is just the general fact that I do not like the taste of it. I had to put like 5 tea spoons of sugar into the coffee and it is still bitter. I’m sure, though, that if you are a coffee drinker, this stuff is amazing! I mean, I my mother was roped into buying it just because I liked the smell.

(I used the word coffee  12 times in this post)

If you have yet to have seen the Princess movie, please take a peak! It is the next post down!

So, I’m sure that several of you are curious about how Chris and I met each other. It is an interesting story really and I hope you enjoy it. It all started one day when I was at the beach. I was just minding my own business swimming in the ocean when a HUGE Great White shark attacked me. I mean, I tried to fight (I did do a little bit of damage to this monster), but I just couldn’t hold my own against this shark. As I was fainting from shock of the attack, I felt myself being pulled out of the shark’s mouth (with surprisingly very few bite marks). Someone then flipped the shark over, causing it to pass out (unfortunately, this won’t work with alligators). I was dragged out of the water and placed on the beach. The crowd surrounding me held their breath as they watched what was going to happen. The boy then shook me really hard and I woke up. That was the first time I saw Chris’ eyes. I knew right then and there that this was the boy for me!

She said that she was just going outside and that a cow had stepped onto the cov ering on the pool thinking that it would hold it up. Well, unfortunately, the cow was incredibly fat and it sunk into the pool. I believe she said that some people eventually floated it to the edge of the pool and got it out (Praise be to God for the cow!). So, I watched the Notebook last night. Don’t worry, I have seen it before, but every time I watch it, it reminds me of how truely amazing this movie it. I think that it is so good for several different reasons including the setting, the plot, and the actors who played the title characters, Allie and Noah  (Rachel McAdams plays Allie and Ryan Gosling is Noah). Every time I watch a movie, I loke to go and read trivia on it (because I am a total dork) and I just read that Brittney Spears additioned for the part of Allie and Justin Timberlake tried out for the part of Noah. I was slightly offended when I read this. I mean, I know that anyone can addition for a part in a movie, but just the fact that Brittney Spears felt that she was such a great actress to portray this emotional character hurts me. Can y’all imagine how different this movie would have been with those two as opposed to Rachel and Ryan? It would have been much much different and it would probably not be considered an incredible movie….. just some food for thought.

I am home from the city! I have to say, New York was pretty much just like I thought it was going to be, although the people weren’t as rude as I had imagined. I had a GREAT time and I wish that I could go back soon. My favorite part of the trip was, you guessed it, HAIRSPRAY!!! It was so amazing and Ashley Parker Angel totally looked at me(yes it is a boy and he played Link). It was kind of cool to see the former NSYNC member Lance Bass in person(Yay! I did get to see a famous person!). I wish that Macon could put on a production similar to that of Broadway, but we all know that will never happen. :)

While we were in New York, we bumped into Jonathan, Monica, Gabby, and Noah. It was kind of weird, but cool at the same time. I mean, I knew they were going to be there, but I did not expect at all to see them. Here is the picture of Jonathan of me in FAO Schwarz! (I’m sorry I can’t roatate it. Ok, so, yesterday was wednesday. Most of you should know that just because you don’t live on deserted islands with no way of telling time. Anyway, yesterday was a day that traumatized me and that I feel like blogging about and that I think I can talk about without coming close to tears. Wednsday started off as any normal wedesday. Actually, it was better than most wednesdays because I recieved my senior pictures and they turned out looking a lot better than they did before the retouching. Besides that, Kelley Land did a phenominal job leading 6Forty and I thoroughly enjoyed her lesson(on Pirates….Arrrrgh!). Traditionally(well, beginning like 2 years ago), everyone goes to Chick Fil A after 6Forty, but for some reason, not very many people went last night, so I just got mine to go. On the way home, I was following the flow of traffic on Bass road when a gigantic black(or other dark-colored) dog ran right out in front of me. I think you can figure out what happened next. I hit it. This was very very upsetting to me. I am a dog lover and would never ever EVER do anything to hurt a dog. My dad actually used to worry about me hurting myself in a car trying to avoid a dog in the road. The sad part of that is if I had seen this dog before it was in front of my car, I probably would have swerved or slammed on brakes to avoid hitting it, thus causing myself to be in an even worse wreck than what happened. I thank God that this dog was a dark color. I shudder to think what COULD have happened… So, the entire way home, I cried. I actually bawled hysterically. I’m sure that if someone had been in the car with me, they would have been laughing at the way I was crying(even though it was NOT funny at all). This event really upset me. It upset me so much that I made myself sick. I even had to leave school after  3rd period today because my head was pounding so hard. The moral of this story: Thank God for every single day that He has given you(and your pets) because you just don’t know when it can be snatched from you.

Cause this is Thriller!

Here’s a funny story for you guys. Today, I went in to Kroger to get some cans for Key Club for the NEEDY! I was, of course, dressed up as a 50’s girl because I was at the church’s trunk-or-treat. I also had on my letterman jacket because I was kinda of cold and I am somewhat cold-natured. Well, when I went into the store, an older police officer kind of looked at me weird but said hello and I kept walking. I walked over to the canned foods, and as I was looking, I glanced up and saw this cop had followed me(but he kept his distance so that it wouldn’t LOOK like he was following me). The only reason I really know he was following me is because he was looking at me weird. Can you believe it? Me! This guy thought I was trying to shop-lift CANNED FOOD FOR THE NEEDY!!! It made me so angry. Well, I guess that all cops can’t have common sense……

This morning at church Rob told me I looked like a Disney Princess. At first, I was a little confused because he is NEVER nice to me, but I decided to take it as a compiment. After he told me I looked like a princess though, he told me to shut up and turn around(now there’s the Rob I’m used to!). So, which princess do you guys think I look like?

Today, JK Rowling announced that Albus Dumbledore was, in fact, gay. Yes. But, after thinking about it, it does make sense.

There are possible spoilers in here if you didn’t read the book…

This post is more of a shout out to Sarah Whitby. Yes, that’s right, my wonderful friend Sarah. Let me tell you what she did for me. She helped me with a Calculus problem. Now, that might not sound like anything very exciting to most of you, but to me it was amazing! Mainly because I understood what I was doing as she walked me through the problem. It was a nice feeling. Once again, thank you Sarah!

So, couch wars was last week. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the fun event!

So, today when I got home, there was a letter for me. I was very excited because I never get mail and this one actually looked like a real letter. When I opened it, I received birthday wishes! Now, I am very appreciative, but my birthday is in april….

Graduation, that is. Well, not really. But, it sure does feel like it and I’m sure that the time will fly by! We are placing our cap and gown orders today and tomorrow and senior pictures are coming in. Oh my goodness! I am almost in college! I applied to the University of Georgia on saturday. I will find out December 15th if I am going. I am fairly confident, but I honestly do not know what to think. I am so nervous, excited, and all sorts of other emothins at the same time! Wish me luck!

A special tip

This week is going much better than last week. Unfortunatly, though, the homecoming parade was cancelled due to rain.

Well, as many of you know, I have had a fairly rough week. I don’t really want to go into detail, but I definately had one of the worst weeks ever.  So, that being said, I’m sorry it’s been so long since I’ve blogged. Please forgive me.

Hopefully, I will get started back on my piano lessons soon! If all goes well, Monic
